Further information on most of the sites featured on this page can be found in the National Monuments Record of Scotland (NMRS). The NMRS database is available on-line through the CANMORE facility on the website of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland. You will note that many of our ‘sites to visit’ have an NMRS number, and this can be used to retrieve the relevant entry from the NMRS database.
